Natural forms inspire the design of the main buildings. The fully glazed ground floors create a plinth over which the upper floors appear to float. The vertical columns reflect the trunks of the mature trees that populate the park, while the overhang on the upper floors creates the treetops, adding valuable solar shading to prevent unwanted heat gain.
The Pavilion provides a sanctuary away from the desk, and a central hub for amenity and relaxation. It includes shower and toilet facilities, a kiosk selling snacks and newspapers and communal spaces where people can meet, relax or simply find a fresh perspective on the day.
Space is a luxury that the park offers in abundance. Here is a place to use and enjoy, not simply to look at and admire. A wheelchair-accessible exercise trail leads you away from the buildings and into the landscape, encircling the site and opening up new areas and views along its length.
